This is Kiki the Kat that has nurtured every new pup we've brought him - and then made clear who was boss.

Here's Ike (still a baby) who at 6 weeks we thought was mostly Lab. Not. We should have named him Elvis because he's mostly a hound dog. You gotta love those floppy ears.

Zoey (cuddling up to Maggie) is our 2 year old rescued ears-put-on-backwards mix (she has a face for radio, but we love her). She has never met dog or human she didn't love.

Then there is Maggie, our unbelievably bright 9 year old rescued Border Collie/Flat Coat Lab mix. Here she is waiting for the "Okay" to airlift and snatch the treat on her nose.

Final note: Maggie is truly something special. We picked her up the day before she was going to be put down, 8 years ago. She is a shop dog. She watches over us every step of the way, including selecting stones, prepping them, etching and finishing. It may be hard to believe, but she gives each memorial a good sniff of approval before we pack and ship. Sometimes we truly think she knows how it will help someone bring some closure to the anguish of losing a pet.
